We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to Wintergalactic at Catch on the 5th. It was an amazing night and a great way to finish a busy year. Special thanks go to Kadija, Caroline, Nick, Alice, Stokes, Frodo, Becky, Katie, Adria, Sarah and the Modern Romance crew for making it such a special occasion.
The Jackals will be off the radar for a couple of months while we get settled into new houses and work on new material, so here's a little something to keep you warm over the festive period...
Wintergalactic
We've had so much fun this year making videos and doing gigs that we decided to bundle some of that surreal good time shizzle into a Jackal Christmas Party.
The theme for the event is Wintergalactic, so get thinking about fancy dress costumes with a space-age yuletide feel. There will be a reduced entry fee for people who have made the effort. This doesn't mean a bit of tinsel and a Christmas hat will get you in cheap!

We've been sent a wonderful remix of I Am The Sun by a chap called Simon Haines - aka Quistard. Unfortunately it arrived a little too late for inclusion on the EP, but the silver lining to this cloud is that we can offer it as a free download instead. Enjoy!

(Mon)day of the Jackals
We have a bunch of music on sale from Monday (18th October): our album, Universal Screenplay, and the Press Reset / I Am The Sun EP, which contains radio edits of both songs plus another four remixes by some very good, extremely talented friends.
The amazing artwork for both the album and EP was created especially for us by a wonderful artist Darren McEvoy, another long-time friend of the Jackals who has an uncanny ability to visualise the sentiment and idealogy behind our music.
Massive thanks go to Mark Gardener and (the now late) Rich Haines for help on Afterlife and Open Skies, George Shilling who engineered, mixed and produced Spaceship Dream and Analogue Star, and Steve Cooper who mastered the album and EP.
We'll update this post with links as soon as they become available, but you should be able to buy these from all of the major digital music outlets.
How Swn Is Now?
It's just two weeks until we play at Swn Festival in Cardiff, so if you're going (or thinking about it) then make sure you put this in your diary:
Friday 22nd October - Union Jackals, 9pm @ The Model Inn, Womanby Street, Cardiff.
We'll have a very limited supply of CDs with us, so come say hello if you fancy getting your hands on a copy of our album, Universal Screenplay. Also, keep your eyes on the screens scattered around Swn Fest as it turns out that they might be playng the Press Reset and I Am The Sun videos from time to time. Which is nice.

Universal Screenplay Rolls On...
The Universal Screenplay project - making a video for every song on our album - continues apace, with no less than three videos in simultaneous production.
Shoots for We Are The Human Race, Spaceship Dream and Some God's Changeling have been done, involving shady dealings, portals, aliens, suited baddies, Intergalactic Jackalettes, glow sticks, tentacles, human flies, balloons, silver, pyjamas, and a whole bunch of amazing actors, crew, extras, and of course us lot trying to look like we know what the hell is going on! To say its been fun, surreal and manic is an understatement!

Universal Screenplay Project Update
As many of you have been asking, here is a quick update on the Universal Screenplay video project. Hopefully you have been enjoying the first two fruits of our labours, to tie in with the Press Reset / I Am The Sun release in October, if not, get over to the videosection and have a look! www.unionjackals.com/videos
We have also been hard at work on the videos for We Are The Human Race - a 1984 meets V for Vendetta mini epic - and the first part of Spaceship Dream, which involved a lot of other worldly beings in an East London Peanut factory bounding house party style to the 'captured' UJs! We are only just getting over it now, hope all you aliens got back safely to wherever you came from ! Sun-Dance Kids
With the Union Jackals single bundle not out until October, our good friends TenthChapter/Base Mosquito have delivered a stellar remix of I Am The Sun. We loved it so much we are letting them release it in September on the Cablestone Recordings imprint, home to a galaxy of no nonsense quality dance tuneage.
Another version will appear as part of the Union Jackals single bundle out October 18th, featuring the 'Double A Side' Press Reset / I Am The Sun plus four remixes... more news on that next week, for now feed your heads!
